Responsibilities
  • According to the Articles of Association of the Board of Trustees of Eastern Institute of Technology, Ningbo (EIT), the Board of Trustees is the decision-making body for major matters of the university and exercises the following statutory powers.

    (1) Approve the nomination and conduct voting for Board members; elect the Chair and Vice Chair of the Board; elect or dismiss Senior Honorary Trustees and Honorary Trustees;

    (2) Determine the constitution and operational functions of the committees operating under the purview of the Board, along with the responsibilities of Board members within these committees;

    (3) Appoint or dismiss the President; appoint or dismiss Vice Presidents based on the President's nomination;

    (4) Examine and ratify the institution's charter and significant regulations;

    (5) Examine and ratify the university's financial budget and final accounts reports;

    (6) Deliberate upon and ratify the university's development plans, campus planning, construction plans, annual work plans, and annual work reports;

    (7) Deliberate upon and ratify the total staffing size and salary standards of the university;

    (8) Deliberate upon and ratify the division, merger, or termination of the university;

    (9) Deliberate upon and ratify other major matters related to the development of the university.
